Questions about Ride Still?

What is a retreat and why are you organizing one?

Ride Still is about taking the two best things from a great ride, exhilaration from effort and the undistracted focus from being on the bike and expanding those experiences into a weekend. It’s connection with others, or just being alone with your thoughts. Rest deeply friend; you’ll have nowhere else to be. You might get a better sense by reviewing some of the “Ground Rules”.

What’s the angle?

We’re bringing three passions together to share with others: cycling, rest and hopefully some great conversations. That’s it.

Is this retreat exclusively for men?

Yes, the retreat is intended to help men with their own unique challenges of balancing their roles in life and exploring mindfulness. The focus is purely on enjoying great rides, eating well, resting and practicing mindfulness. Friendship and meaningful connections are built on candour and trust, we’re creating that space for men.

What will the cycling experience be like?

Morning rides will be between 75-115 kilometres long. We are offering a high tempo ride at 30km/h and a lower tempo ride at around 26km/h. This will allow us to choose the ride we think we’re most likely going to enjoy while leaving some gas in the tank for the afternoon. There may be opportunities to split into smaller groups based on skill levels, and we'll incorporate stages and challenges for those seeking more intensity. And dude, if it isn’t obvious, these are no-drop rides.

What does mindfulness mean in this context?

We offer the term mindfulness as being present in the moment. Simple practices like deep breathing, body awareness, and relaxation exercises will be introduced, alongside more structured activities like guided meditations and yoga. The focus is on a practical and accessible approach to mindfulness, free from strict rules or dogma.

What does movement mean in this context?

In the context of the retreat, movement is about enhancing your athletic performance by improving mobility, strength, and flexibility in a balanced way. For cyclists, it means using yoga to complement your training—helping your body recover, increasing your range of motion, and reducing the risk of injury. Movement here isn’t just about exercise; it’s about mindful, intentional actions that promote overall well-being, allowing you to ride stronger and feel better both on the bike and in everyday life.

What's included in the price?

The retreat covers food, accommodation, and all planned activities.
