About Ian Flett
I am the creator and host of Ride Still, a project born from my personal experiences and an enduring love for cycling.
That love began at age 10 with a sturdy CCM children's bicycle that I rode through the neighbourhoods of Winnipeg. It was my first taste of freedom. As I grew, I found myself on a Norco Bigfoot, one of the brand’s first mountain bikes. I learned every inch of the monkey trails near me. Later, cycling became my go-to for commuting and road touring in California, Paris, Montreal and Toronto. In 2020, I finally bought my first carbon road bike and fell deeply in love with road cycling. Now, I enjoy gravel racing, cross-country, and enduro mountain biking. This lifelong passion for cycling is at the heart of the retreat I'm organizing.
For rest and recovery off the bike, and as a father of two, I find meditation helps me stay engaged, present and calm with my children…no matter what they throw my way. It makes me present to choose love in every moment I spend with my partner, the most incredible woman I know. And as a lawyer, meditation keeps me laser focused, representing clients with poise and control. On the bike, it helps me reframe pain and exhaustion as worthy parts of a ride, not drawbacks to be avoided.
I want to offer these retreats for us to get in some great rides, solid rest and relaxation in stellar settings.
