About Ian Flett

I am the creator and host of Ride Still sojourns, a project born from my diverse experiences and enduring passion for cycling. My decade-long career as a journalist exposed me to the vast spectrum of human nature, both its triumphs and its tragedies.

Early in my career, I covered a heart-wrenching story about a man who took the lives of his family and then his own. In the quiet of the newsroom after the story was filed, I allowed myself to feel the immense grief of the situation. This experience was a turning point for me. I made a conscious decision to embrace the full range of emotions in my work, refusing to let cynicism or indifference harden me even after covering the ravages of violent conflicts abroad.

I continue to use these techniques in my practice as a lawyer and in my role as a father of two and partner to the most incredible woman I know.

Since then, I've sought meaningful connection through openness, curiosity, and vulnerability. I've developed a regular meditation practice to help me stay present and engaged in each moment. Ride Still is the natural evolution of this journey, a way for me to share the power of connection with others. Through guided rides and thoughtfully curated experiences, I aim to create a space where people can connect with themselves, each other, and the world around them.
